Oasis Change is committed to fostering a respectful, academic, and safe environment for all contributors. These guidelines apply to every article, comment, and interaction on our platform.

Oasis Change is an academic journal dedicated to publishing quality research, essays, and scholarly work. We believe in the free exchange of ideas — but not at the expense of safety, dignity, and respect. All submissions are automatically moderated by AI and reviewed by our editorial team.

🚫Prohibited Content

The following categories of content are strictly prohibited. Violations are detected automatically by our AI moderation system and may result in immediate account suspension or permanent banning.

Hate Speech High Severity
Content that promotes, incites, or justifies hatred, discrimination, or violence against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
Harassment High Severity
Targeted personal attacks, intimidation, bullying, stalking, or any form of sustained harassment directed at an individual or group.
Threats Critical Severity
Direct or indirect threats of violence, harm, or death against any person or group. This includes credible threats made in any context.
Explicit Sexual Content High Severity
Pornography, sexually explicit imagery or text, graphic sexual descriptions, or content that sexually exploits or degrades individuals.
Graphic Violence High Severity
Graphic depictions of violence, gore, torture, or cruelty to humans or animals. This does not include legitimate academic discussions of violence in historical or medical contexts.
Self-Harm Encouragement Critical Severity
Content that promotes, encourages, or provides instructions for self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders. We may report such content to relevant authorities.
Illegal Activity Critical Severity
Content that promotes, facilitates, or provides instructions for illegal activities, including but not limited to drug manufacturing, hacking, fraud, terrorism, and human trafficking.
Spam Medium Severity
Unsolicited promotional content, advertising, cryptocurrency scams, link farms, or any content intended to manipulate our platform for commercial gain.
Malware Instructions Critical Severity
Code, instructions, or links related to malware, viruses, ransomware, phishing, or any malicious software. Academic analysis of malware in a cybersecurity context is permitted with clear disclosure.
Copyright Abuse Medium Severity
Submitting content that violates copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights. All submissions must be original work or properly attributed.
Nonsensical / Machine-Generated Text Medium Severity
AI-generated content submitted as original work, gibberish, low-quality machine-translated text, or any content that appears to be generated solely to manipulate the submission system.

📋Quality Standards

All submissions must meet basic academic quality standards:

Original work: Submissions must be your own original research or writing. Properly cite all sources and references.
Clear title: Articles must have a descriptive, accurate title.
English language: Submissions should be primarily written in English.
Complete content: Drafts, fragments, or placeholder content will be flagged for review.
Academic conventions: Submissions should follow basic academic writing standards including proper citations where applicable.

⚖️Enforcement & Consequences

All submissions are automatically scanned by our AI moderation system. When a violation is detected, the following actions may be taken:

Automatic Rejection: Content that violates guidelines will be automatically rejected. The submitter will receive an explanation.
Manual Review: Content with potential issues but low confidence will be flagged for human editorial review.
Account Warning: First-time or minor violations may result in a warning.
Permanent Ban: Accounts that violate Critical Severity guidelines (threats, self-harm encouragement, illegal activity, malware) will be permanently banned with no appeal. Repeated high-severity violations will also result in permanent banning.

⚠️ Permanent Ban Policy: If our AI system detects content classified as Threats, Self-Harm Encouragement, Illegal Activity, or Malware Instructions with high confidence, your account will be automatically and permanently banned. This decision cannot be reversed except by an administrator in exceptional circumstances.

📋 Ban Records: All bans are logged with timestamps, the reason for the ban, and the article that triggered it. Banned users cannot log in, submit articles, or access any platform features.

✉️Appeals & Contact

If you believe a moderation decision was made in error:

Content Rejection: Contact the editorial team through the Oasis Change website with your submission details.
Account Ban: Banned accounts may appeal by contacting support. Appeals are reviewed by the editorial board.
False Positives: We understand that AI moderation can occasionally produce false positives. If your legitimate academic content was flagged, please reach out to us with details.
